Chester came close to taking the lead on 11 minutes when the ball was played into the left side of the area to Connor Lyon but his firm shot went straight to keeper Dean
Broooks. Durham took the lead a minute later when Callum Bank fired in from a 25 yard free kick.
Chester equalised after 20 minutes when Danny Hepplewhite played a long ball down the right to Michael Hepplewhite and he made a good turn inside a defender and fired a great shot into the net.
Chester took the lead after 30 minutes. Harrison Scott made a good run down the right and made a good cross to the far side for Alexander Walker to head over Brooks into the net. Durham restored parity after 56 minutes when a ball into the area from the right was not cleared and Banki took full advantage to back-heel the ball into the net.
Chester scored the winner after 84 minutes when they were awarded a free kick just outside the area. Christopher Stephenson played it shot to Ricky Fenwick and he made a good turn to fire his shot across the goal and into the far corner.
