Chester-le-Street lost 1-0 at Willington, who made the breakthrough after 8 minutes for the only goal of the game, when a ball down the left set Adam Storey racing into the area and he produced a good finish to beat Max Coombes. After 18 minutes, Willington hit a ball in from the right for Reece Marshall to fire a good shot which brought a good save from the Chester le Street keeper. Chester le Street changed formation for the second half and played with mor conviction going up the field and started to create chances. After 58 minutes, Callum Forster received the ball on the edge of the area and fired in a good shot which Coombes saved at full stretch. Then it was Chester le Streets turn after 66 minutes, Craig Marron played the ball into the six-yard area but James Connor headed straight at the keeper. Two minutes later a good passing move saw the ball played to Alexander Walker but his shot was palmed away at full stretch by Carl Robinson. Chester continued to press and after 70 minutes the ball was played in from the left to Michael Hepplewhite but his shot flashed just wide of the post. In stoppage time a corner was played in from the left and it found Joseph Blackbourne in space but his header went just over the bar. After a poor performance in the first half, Chester le Street improved greatly in the second and their performance deserved at least a point.
