Chester le Street Town had to their first draw of the season at home to Easington Colliery, the scoreline ending 1-1
Easington should have taken the lead in the 3rd minute when Josh Home-Jackson moved the ball left to Simon Todd who quickly moved the ball onto Jack Pounder and his pass into the middle found Liam Adamson in space but with just the keeper to beat his shot was scuffed and Reagan Ward was able to make an easy save. After 25 minutes, Andrew Clarkson for Chester le Street turned well on the edge of the area but he fired well over the bar. Chester came close after 31 minutes when Harrison Scott made a good run down the right and passed inside to Clarkson but Brennan Ball made a good challenge to deflect the shot for a corner.
Chester le Street did make the breakthrough after 39 minutes when a good ball down the right sent Owen Henderson racing clear and his good cross was met by Christopher Stephenson who found the net with an excellent diving header.
Easington dominated the second half and it was no surprise when they brought the scores level after 75minutes. Thomas Bott’s low cross found Pounder and he quickly moved the ball on for Adamson to fire in from close range. From then on Easington continued to press forward in search of the winner and after 80 minutes, Home-Jackson had an effort blocked.
In stoppage time an Easington corner was only cleared to the edge of the area and Jake Dunn hit a good low drive which went just wide of the goal. Just before the end the ball was crossed into the middle but Home-Jackson saw his effort go just past the post.
