Chester had a convincing 5-0 win at Durham. Chester pressed from the start and came close to breaking the deadlock after 15 minutes. Luke Collins played a corner from the right to the far side and Kevin Dixon ran in to hit a good volley but it went just over the bar. Chester took the lead after 28 minutes when a long ball was played deep into the Durham area by Christopher Stephenson and it was headed down by Lee Blades for Jak Mitchell to hit a fine strike into the net. Andrew Clarkson played the ball over to the right and found Luke Collins in space but as he raced in on goal, keeper David Smallman was quickly off his line to block the shot with his feet. Durham came close to an equaliser after 51 minutes when the ball was played over from the right for Anthony Chapman to run in but his header brought a good reaction save from Maximiliano Coombes who turned the ball onto the post and it was cleared. Chester doubled their lead after 55 minutes with a
great goal. A good, passing move saw Clarkson play the ball to Mitchell who quickly moved it onto Collins who fired in. Chester increased their advantage after 66 minutes. When the ball was played through, Clarkson let it run onto David Surrey who hit a low, hard cross into the middle for Luke Ridley to fire in a shot which Smallman managed to turn around the post by his feet. Harry Whisker and he gained possession and went around Smallman to fire into the empty net.
