Chester le Street fielded the same side as Saturday and went on to beat Washington 3-1. They took the lead after 10 minutes. Craig Marron hit a corner from the left to the far side and Kevin Dixon ran in to head home from close range. After 13 minutes, the ball was played over to the right for Dixon to cross toward the far post but Luke Collins was unable to get a good touch on the ball and didn’t find the target. Two minutes later, a corner from the right found Alexander Walker but his strong shot brought a good, reaction save from keeper Harry Archer. Chester le Street doubled their lead after 35 minutes when a quick through ball sent Dominic Laws racing into the area and he was brought down by the keeper, Craig Marron stepped up to fire the penalty into the corner of the net. They further increased their advantage after 54 minutes. A good passing move saw the ball played wide right to Owen Henderson and he fired a good cross into the middle for Andrew Clarkson to head in. The Cestrians created another good opening after 57 minutes when the ball was played through to Clarkson who turned inside a defender but pulled his shot wide of the target. Washington pulled a goal back after 72 minutes when Chester le Street were caught out by a quick break and the ball was played through for Kieren Broomfield to move into the box and fire into the net. Three minutes later, the ball was played down the right for Dylan Quinn and he cut into the box to hit a powerful drive which Nathan Armin turned for a corner at full stretch. After 84 minutes a ball through the middle found Laws in space but instead of hitting a lob over the keeper, he fired in a shot which went well over the bar. After 89 minutes a cross from the right found Graham Stephenson and he hit a first-time shot which brought another good save from Armin.
