Chester le Street Town remain in fourth position in Division 2 of The Ebac Northern League after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Heaton Stannington. After 20 minutes, Connor Lyon played a good ball into the Heaton area and Scott Robson did well to bring it under control but his shot went wide of the target. Heaton came close to breaking the deadlock after 40 minutes when a good cross was played in from the right for Jonathon Fox to get in a header which clipped the top of the bar. Cheter le Street almost took the lead on the stroke of half time , a Craig Marron free kick took a deflection and was going into the bottom corner of the net when Heaton keeper Dan Regan managed to change direction and turn the ball around the post. After 52 minutes a ball into the Heaton area was only cleared to Robson who fired a first-time shot just wide of the post. After 60 minutes a quick break by Heaton saw the ball moved forward and Louis Burns raced into the box before he was brought down by Alexander Walker but Max Coombes made a good save at the foot of the post to prevent Heaton taking the lead. Two minutes later, Heaton made a good break down the right and Burns cut in to fire a drive which went just wide of the far post.
