Chester came away from Ryton with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Ryton had the better of the opening spell and came close to taking the lead after 2 mins. Daniel Quine won possession on the right goal byline, turned back and hit a low cross across the goal through a crowd of players but none of the forwards could get a touch on the ball to turn it into the net. After 31 minutes, Chester made a break down the left and the ball was played back to Joseph Hailes. He tried a cross-cum shot to the far aside but the ball came back off the bar and it was cleared. However, Chester made the breakthrough two minutes later. A free kick was played into the Ryton area and it was played wide to Michael Hepplewhite who made a good turn to hit a fine shot into the net. Ryton came close to an equaliser after 39 minutes when a ball into the Chester area was only cleared to Martyn Hepple on the edge of the area towards the goal but it was deflected for a corner. Chester doubled their lead after 47 minutes when a ball was crossed in from the left for Kieran Megran to fire in a shot which came back off the post and it left Owen Henderson with a clear shot into the empty net. After 61 minutes, a through ball sent Scott Jasper racing into the area, He went around keeper, Maximiliano Coombes to fire in a shot but Kevin Dixon got back quickly to clear off the line. Chester were in full control for the rest of the match as they completed their victory.
