Chester lost their 100% record when they went down 1-0 at home to Heaton Stannington. Chester created a chance after 4 minutes when Jack Oliver received the ball on the left, cut inside to fire a low shot across the goal which the keeper, Joseph Brook had to punch clear. After 22 minutes, Joshua King won possession near the half-way line and quickly passed to set Cameron Nichol racing clear. He passed the ball inside to Kieran Megran but he rushed his shot and fired over the bar. After 27 minutes the ball was played down the left to Nichol and he found Megran but his shot brought a good save from Brook. After 32 minutes, a cross into the area was only cleared to Alexander Walker and he fired in a tremendous drive from 25 yards but Brook pulled off a great save. After 47 minutes, the ball was played in from the right for Megran to slip it on to King but his shot went straight at Brook and he was able to tip the ball over the bar. Heaton should have taken the lead after 65 minutes when Josh Miller played the ball through to the unmarked Connor Campbell near the back post but he failed to make a good contact with the ball and Scott Cresswell was able to gather the ball. Two minutes later, Owen Henderson hit a long cross into the area from the right which found Megran but his volley went just over the bar. After 80 minutes, Campbell was played in on the right and he cut inside to fire in a good shot which brought a good save from Cresswell. Heaton scored what proved to be the winning goal after 86 minutes. They made a quick break down the left and Jai Grant was penalised for a foul and Campbell stepped up to convert the penalty. A very disappointing result considering all the chances we had.
