This top of the table clash with Thornaby ended in a stalemate 0-0 draw.

After 2 minutes, Kyran Clark raced down the left and cut inside to fire a shot across the goal but Craig Marron got back to clear the ball. Two minutes later a long clearance sent Clark down the right and he outpaced Alexander Walker to move into the area but Jack Wilson was quick off his line to block the ball with his feet. After 12 minutes, Jai Grant hit a free kick from the right over to the far side for Walker to head into the middle but although Joshua King got a touch on the ball it was collected by keeper James Dawson. After 20 minutes, Jack Oliver harried a defender near the right by-line, won possession and crossed into the middle for Michael Hepplewhite to hook a first-time shot but it went wide of the post. After 31 minutes, Owen Henderson hit a good cross in from the right but again Hepplewhite fired wide of the target. Two minutes later, Clark raced down the right and slipped the ball inside to Joe Posthill but his shot was deflected for a corner. There were few chances to either side in the second half, Thornaby did come close to breaking the deadlock after 55 minutes when Posthill was left in space inside the Chester area and he fired in a decent shot but Wilson made another good save with his feet to deny the goal.
