Chester le Street Town progressed to the next stage of the FA Vase with a 3-1 win on penalties. The score had ended 1-1 in normal time with the Cestrians having the best of the first half and went in at ht 1-0 in front courtesy of a Jak Mitchell goal.
Jarrow pushed forward in the second period and equalised on 72 mins through a header at the back post by Jason Mellish – the game ending 1-1 and going to penalties
Star of the shoot out and a MOM performance overall was goal keeper Jack Wilson who saved 3 of the resultant Jarrow penalties to win the tie and had previously pulled off three wonder saves to keep the Jarrow lads at bay.
Onto the next round and a home tie against Easington on 25 September
