Chester le Street conceded a late goal in their 3-3 draw at Washington. The Cestrians had to defend against a strong wind in the first half, and they defended well in the early stages but fell behind after 36 minutes. A corner from the right resulted a powerful header. Jack Wilson made a great stop but Samuel Bradley tapped in the rebound. Washington doubled their lead after 41 minutes. The ball was played down the left to Gary Shaw and his cross into the middle was headed in by Matthew Waters. The wind had dropped greatly in the second half. After 48 minutes, Kieran Megran fired a free kick just over the bar. Chester le Street pulled a goal back after 56 minutes. Lee Mole latched onto a through ball and as the keeper rushed from his line, he lifted the ball over him into the net. Chester le Street restored parity after 58 minutes when a ball down the right found Dominic Laws and his cross took a slight deflection over the keeper into the far corner. After 60 minutes, Marc Costello cut in from the left to fire in a shot which Wilson did well to parry away from the goal. The Cestrians took the lead after 84 minutes when David Surrey played in a good cross from the right which Laws turned into the net. Just as it looked as if Chester le Street would gain the three points Washington equalised when the Cestrians missed a couple of opportunities to clear the ball and it was played to Jake Pickford who curled a great shot into the net. Another game of two halves and the draw was probably the fair result.
