Chester le Street Town Ladies had a convincing 3-0 win against Leeds United Ladies today in the FA Womens Premier League Northern Division 1.
A goal from Laura Hockaday in the first half gave them an interval lead which was followed by strikes from Nicole Havery and Kacie Elson in the second half. The Leeds team did go down to 10 players in the second period, however it seemed to inspire them as they never gave up trying which was all credit to them, but the Chester le Street Girls held firm and saw the game out with ease.
The win makes it 5 out of the last 6 games and takes the Cestrians up to 7th position 9 points ahead of second bottom Leeds and 10 points above bottom club Barnsley, still not mathematically safe but a more comfortable position than a month ago. The fine run of form has come well leading up to their Durham County FA Ladies Cup Final against Norton & Stockton Ancients Ladies at the Hetton Centre on Wednesday 2 May ko 7.00pm
