Chester le Street had a comfortable 3-0 win at West Allotment in the Ernest Armstrong Cup to take them to the Semi Final stage. They took an early lead after 3 minutes when Craig Marron curled in a low corner from the left and Kieran Megran turned the ball in from close range. Chester doubled their lead after 15 minutes. The ball was crossed into the middle and it was brought down by Andrew Clarkson and he quickly moved the ball on to Daniel McGuire on the right and he raced into the area to fire in. Chester extended their lead after 22 minutes when a free kick was quickly taken and the ball played down the left for Alex White and he cut into the area to lift a good shot over the keeper into the far corner of the net. Chester came close to another goal after 50 minutes when the ball was played down the right to McGuire and he hit a good cross into the middle but Clarkson could only head over from close range. After 71 minutes, Chester made a quick break and Aaron Reynolds played the ball through to White but his shot was deflected for a corner. A good performance which has taken the team into the semi-final.
