Chester le Street Town had to settle for a point from a 0-0 draw with Easington.
After 24 minutes, Chester played the ball into the right side of the area for Joshua King to hit a good, low drive which brought a good block be keeper Kyle Donaldson. A minute later, a free kick was played into the Easington area which was headed out right to King and he passed to Daniel McGuire . His shot was blocked and it rebounded to Lee Mole but he fired wide for a good position. Chester came close to making the breakthrough after 41 minutes when the ball was played to Michael Hepplewhite on the edge of the area and he turned well to fire in a great shot but it came back off the post. Chester should have taken te lead after 62 minutes when a good move saw the ball played to Kieran Megran on the right. He raced to the by-line before crossing to the far side to the unmarked Mole but he headed over from close range. Two minutes later, King moved down the right to cut in and drive the ball across the face of the goal but nobody was on hand to take advantage. After 71 minutes a corner from the right was played to Mole on the left but he fired wide of the target. After 84 minutes the ball was played down the left and crossed into the middle. Mole saw his shot blocked but it rebounded quickly to Megran but he did not make a good contact and the ball went over the bar. After 86 minutes, McGuire raced down the right to cut into the box but his shot clipped the outside of the post. In the end it was nice to earn a point but with all the chances we created we should have taken all three points. Jack Wilson never had a shot to save in the complete ninety minutes.
