Chester went down 3-1 at home to league leaders Northallerton Town. Northallerton took the lead after 7 minutes. Following a Chester corner, Northallerton made a quick break and a long ball down the right caught the Chester defence two-on-two. Nicholas Martin beat Alex White on the right and crossed the ball inside for Aaron Ramsbottom to slip the ball past Jack Wilson. Northallerton doubled their lead after 33 minutes Following another Chester corner, the ball was played down the right for Ramsbottom to pass inside to Christopher Dickinson to fire in. Chester created a chance after 37 minutes when Craig Marron played a good ball deep into the Northallerton area but Andrew Clarkson could only head over the bar. Northallerton came close to another goal after 44 minutes. A free kick was played into the six-yard box for Ramsbottom to turn the ball towards the goal but Wilson made a good save. After 48 minutes, Martin played the ball in from the right which was headed on by Dickinson for Ramsbottom to head towards goal but Wilson made another good save. After 51 minutes, Clarkson played the ball inside to Lee Mole who quickly flicked on to set Joshua King clear but the keeper made a good block. Chester pulled a goal back after 65 minutes when Clarkson turned inside a defender and was brought down with Marron converting the penalty. Northallerton extended their lead after 72 minutes. A cross into the area was fired towards goal by Martin. it was only clear to the edge of the area and Dickinson head towards goal with Wilson only able to help palm it into the net. After 81 minutes the ball was played into the area from the left to the unmarked Liam Jarvie who squared the ball to Shaun Hudson but he fired his shot over the bar.
