Chester le Street Town turned in another good performance to earn a 2-0 away win at Easington.
After a fairly even opening, Chester made the breakthrough after 19 minutes. Craig Marron sent the ball down the left to Aaron Reynolds and he raced on and fired the ball into the middle and this cross-cum-shot sailed over the keeper into the far corner of the net. Easington came close to an equaliser after 29 minutes. A cross in from the right was met by Jack Pounder and his firm header brought a great save from Jack Wilson who turned the ball onto the post and then back-heeled the ball off the line. The Cestrians doubled their lead after 68 minutes when a long clearance down the meddle set Daniel McGuire racing clear and he fired the ball home. They could have increased their lead shortly afterwards when a similar move saw Alex White clear but the ball bobbled as he was to shoot at goal and it sailed well over the bar to safety. A good three points and nice to have another clean sheet.
