The Cestrian’s went into this match on a high after a tremendous midweek win at Blyth, however the starting line up had to be changed as young central defender Calum Greaves was unavailable along with Kieran Megran, Dave Surrey, Dan Hepplewhite , Connor Lyon, Matthew Ridley , and Andy Clarkson.
Early exchanges were end to end with Michael Hepplewhite forcing good saves from the Crook keeper to keep the score 0-0. Chester le Street Town had a good shout for a penalty turned down by match officials when Michael Hepplewhite was upended in the box. Joe Grant was unable to start the second half with a thigh injury and was replaced by Dylan Crooks. After 65 minutes Craig Marron received his marching orders when he was adjuged to have committed a two foot tackle and from then the initiative turned to Crook, with former Cestrian Kyle Morris putting them ahead after 74 mins and Dan Smith wrapping the game up on 81 mins
